Getting to Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)

FLL is located approximately 5 miles south of the Broward County Convention Center. The approximate time to downtown ranges between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on the time of day and mode of transportation.

Airport Transport by Taxi

Taxis depart from the designated taxi zones located at each of the four terminals, on the first-floor level (arrivals) of all terminals. Uniformed ground transportation coordinators are stationed at the taxi zones 24/7 to assist passengers with questions or concerns.

The approximate fare to a downtown destination is $18 to $21. Taxis may add a $3.00 pass-through fee to all airport fares leaving FLL.

Car Rentals

The Rental Car Center (RCC) is located next to Terminal 1. Follow the RCC signage to the Concourse B pedestrian bridge. Travelers arriving at Terminals 2, 3, or 4 should follow the RCC signs to passenger pick-up area for the free shuttle bus service. The pick-up areas are located outside the baggage claim level. The shuttle buses will take you to the RCC. RCC shuttle service is available every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Travelers can find a map and directions on the FLL airport website on how to return vehicles. The approximate fare to a downtown destination is $18 to $21. Taxis may add a $3.00 pass-through fee to all airport fares leaving FLL.

Ride Shares (Uber/Lyft)

Travelers can utilize ride share services like Uber and Lyft for travel to and from FLL. For pick-up, all ride shares must board on the lower (arrival) level of FLL. Look for curbside signage for Ride-Sharing with a cellphone image. These pick-up locations are positioned between Terminals 1 & 2 and 3 & 4.

Water Taxi

Travel to your destination via water taxi while in Fort Lauderdale. There are 11 stops offered along the waterways and water taxis arrive every 35-45 minutes. Pre-purchase of your pass is required prior to boarding. The Water Taxis operate from 10am-10pm 7 days a week. Tri-Rail (Commuter Train)

Provides service to Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County. There are free shuttle buses from the FLL terminals to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Station at Dania Beach. Shuttle bus stops are located on the lower level of FLL at the west end of Terminal 1, at the Ground Transportation Area between Terminals 2 and 3, and at he east end of Terminal 4. Broward Central Transit (Bus System)

Provides service to Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County. Operates Monday through Friday from 4:30 AM – 12:40 AM. Three lines are involved: Express Routes, Breeze Routes, and Fixed-Route Regular service. Use the System Map to find the nearest Bus station near your location and information on bus fares.
